I see us! Do you?
I was born in Austin, Texas, raised in Santa Cruz, California, and I currently live in Brooklyn, New York. My childhood was carefree, with many moments reserved for stillness and observation. It was enriched by the sounds of the ocean, barking seals, the brushstrokes and creative spirit of an artist mother and the tribal musical soundtrack of my musician and professor father. As an only child, I spent much of my early years exploring the world around me by experimenting with art and imagination.
These early explorations led me to art school in Santa Barbara. Upon graduating from Brooks Institute of Photography, I immediately moved to New York City where I spent six years at one of the top fashion photography institutes, Pier 59 Studios, as studio manager and later as the Director of Bookings. All the while I continued to shoot babies. Always, babies!
I've worked alongside some of the world’s best lighting technicians in the business and created bold and unique studio set-ups, honing my technical skills alongside teams of incredibly talented co-collaborators. I use these skills to turn my enthusiasm and energy towards, most often, shooting babies and children.
My commercial client list includes PARENTS magazine, American Baby magazine, Scholastic Parent & Child magazine, Baby & Me UK, Papier Mache, The New York Observer, Shutterfly, IZOD, Lilly Pulitzer, Zulily, Clear Vision Optical, Guerlain and Kate Spade.
In addition to editorial work, I also accept private commissions for individuals, families, weddings, private events and experiential travel. I often shoot in far flung cities, so don't be afraid to inquire about my travel schedule.
I can be booked to document your next family vacation in Italy, your 9-day old newborn daughter in Manhattan or the launch of your brand in Singapore (all commissions I've had and loved in the last 12 months!)
As well as shooting, I'm often cooking or eating my way through whatever country I'm in.
Well, off I go!
